  Speaker Verificaion Implemented Security
The aim of this project was to implement Speaker Verification.
This was realised, by creating a client-server application where the user can use the software from a client machine. The user is given a random piece of text to read into a microphone. This data is then sent to the server machine, where the software will decide if this person is who they claim to be.
This project recieved 3rd prize in the Computer Applications Final Year Project awards.

Codec's and their Potential influence on media development
This essay will introduced Codec's and their place in the fast-growing area of Media development. I intended to show the possibilities that use of a Codec can bring to the development of a Multimedia system, as well as the ease of use that accompanies Codec's (with a case study on the best Codec currently around, DivX ;-)). The area of Piracy is one that also needed special consideration, due to the smaller file sizes that Codec's produce and the advantages of new Internet technologies. Lastly I looked to the future, and see the potential uses of Codec's both directly and embedded in other applications/services. In my conclusion I weighed up the positive and negative aspects of current Codec's and gave my personal opinion.
This essay is quite out-dated right now, since it was written in April 2001.
